If you are moving to Germany, salon and haircut costs can be a small but recurring monthly expense. This guide explains how to find a salon in Germany, what to budget for a haircut in 2026, useful German words to search for, and how to save money with at-home grooming tools.
I originally wrote this from my own experience after moving from India to Germany. I have now refreshed the guide because older haircut prices in Germany can look too low in 2026, especially in bigger cities and for longer hair, colouring, styling or beauty treatments.
Salon in Germany in 2026: quick price guide
Salon prices in Germany vary by city, hair length, service time and whether washing/blow-drying is included. As a practical budget, a basic men’s haircut is often around 25-40 EUR, while a women’s cut with washing and blow-drying often starts around 45-80 EUR. Colour, highlights, balayage, smoothing, waxing and facials can become much more expensive.
- Budget haircut: search for “Friseur Herren Haarschnitt”, “Damenhaarschnitt”, “Cut and Go”, or a student/training salon.
- Beauty salon: search for “Kosmetikstudio”, “Schoenheitssalon”, “Waxing”, “Augenbrauen”, or the exact service plus your city.
- Indian beauty parlour: search for “indischer Salon”, “indische Kosmetikerin”, “threading eyebrows” or “Augenbrauen Fadentechnik” near your city.
- Before booking: confirm whether the price includes washing, blow-drying, long-hair surcharge, consultation, card payment and tip.
For current price checks, I usually compare Google Maps, salon websites and booking platforms like Treatwell Germany. As reference examples, a Berlin salon on Treatwell listed men’s cuts from 28 EUR and women’s cut/wash/blow-dry from 45 EUR, while a German salon price list valid from January 2026 listed men’s cuts from 33 EUR and women’s cutting from 30-34 EUR before extras.
If you are looking for a beauty salon in Germany, the German word is Schoenheitssalon or Kosmetikstudio. For a hair salon, search for Friseur or Friseursalon. For eyebrow threading, try Augenbrauen Fadentechnik, threading, or indischer Salon plus your city.
How to search for the right salon in Germany?
If you want a haircut, hair colour, waxing, eyebrows or facial, do not choose only by walking into the first salon you see. Prices can vary a lot even in the same area, and some salons charge extra for long hair, washing, blow-drying, consultation or styling.
Well, here are the steps which I follow before researching around that.
I usually search for salons near a central place in my city and then compare their website, Google Maps reviews and price list. Many salons in Germany publish a Preisliste online, which makes comparison easier.
Follow along the steps mentioned below – Example for Frankfurt, Hauptwache.
1. Search for the Salon in Hauptwache on Google.
2. Click on the Salon Name and then Click on the website.
3. Once you have opened the website find the Price chart.
Look for the things which you want to get it done eg. Haircut and Yoo Hoo!! You have got the amount you are going to spend for getting the haircut.

Follow the same process to compare salons near you. Busy market areas often have more options, but the cheapest salon is not always the best value. Read recent reviews, check photos if available, and confirm the final price before the service starts.
